Abstract: The distribution of energy consumption in ethylbenzene dehydrogenation process is briefly introduced, and multi-effect distillation is proposed as the energy saving measure. Aspen Plus is used to simulate three processes of crude styrene tower, i.e. single distillation, parallel-flow double-effect distillation and mixed-flow double-effect distillation. The results show that the energy-saving effect of the parallel-flow double-effect distillation is remarkable, and the energy consumption is reduced by about 11%-12%.
