Petrochemical Design is a sci-tech journal approved by the State Scientific and Technological Commission and the General Administration of Press and Publication for open distribution. Supervised by Sinopec Group and sponsored by SINOPEC Engineering Incorporation (SEI), it is intended for the reader groups and individuals who are concerned about petrochemical design and production, and reflects the system-side management and development of petrochemical design.

Petrochemical Design was founded in 1984 and approved for open distribution at home and abroad by the General Administration of Press and Publication on January 15, 1994, with a China standard serial number of CN 11-3476/TE and an international standard serial number of ISSN 1005-8168. It is published quarterly, with a total of 4 issues a year. In 2001, it was awarded the third prize of the Excellent Sci-tech Journal by Sinopec Group. This journal is included in the Chemical Abstracts (CA) database.

The journal aims to publicize the principles and policies of CCP, disseminate modern science and technology, report and promote new technologies, new equipment, new materials, new standards and new experiences of China's petrochemical processes, and introduce the major reforms to achieve design innovation, so as to improve the design level and the management level of enterprises and to promote the continuous improvement of China's petrochemical technologies. It insists on quality first, serves the frontline of engineering design and production, and takes both theoretical research and discussion into account, so that its papers are advanced, practical and forward-looking in content.

The columns of this journal include design technology, process optimization, equipment technology, piping technology, engineering and application, HSE, technological transformation, energy saving and emission reduction, standards and codes, overview and petrochemical online. Petrochemical Design is a sci-tech journal openly distributed for research and design institutes, engineering companies, universities and colleges, production enterprises and the enthusiastic readers who are concerned about the development of petrochemical industry at home and abroad. This journal has great influence in the petrochemical industry. The authors, who are experts with rich engineering design and practical experience in petrochemical design, can provide the readers with forward-looking design ideas, advanced design technologies, practical thoughts on technological transformation, rich engineering application experience, and a large amount of domestic and international information.
