Influence of Thermal Integration of Aromatics Complex on Equipment Layout

Abstract:

Aromatics complex is featured by long process flow, multiple towers and multiple low-temperature heat sources for the medium at the top of towers. Currently, both foreign and domestic xylene processes regard the utilization of low-temperature heat at the top of towers as an important means to reduce energy consumption of the unit. The coordinated utilization of low-temperature heat is called "thermal integration". This article introduces and analyzes several thermal integration methods and the corresponding equipment layout ideas for xylene processes at home and abroad, concluding that the thermal integration technology for domestic processes combines the characteristics of various foreign processes instead of simply copying a certain foreign process.
