Abstract:

When oil and gas pipelines are damaged by geological disasters, oil and gas leakage may occur. The spread of oil and gas in the atmospheric, soil, and water environments can lead to fires, explosions, and environmental pollution, which has a significant impact on public safety. During the design, construction, and operation stages of oil and gas pipelines, high requirements are placed on the geological conditions along the pipeline route. This paper, in combination with the current research status of expansive soil at home and abroad, sorts out the cases of oil and gas pipelines being damaged by expansive soil over the years, briefly analyzes the field characteristics and indicators of expansive soil, and proposes targeted prevention and control measures for expansive soil disasters in oil and gas pipeline areas, providing reference for the effective management and control of expansive soil.

Key words: expansive soil, oil and gas pipelines, identification; prevention and control
