Abstract: The general layout design of petrochemical plant is an important work. Based on the overall layout of the process, the best general layout plan is selected by comprehensively utilizing factors including site environmental conditions and reserved development space to minimize the land use and achieve a compact and reasonable layout of the production units, transportation routes, pipelines and greening facilities according to the material property, capacity, transportation requirements, and fire protection and environmental protection requirements of the plant. Some effective measures for general layout optimization of petrochemical plant are introduced from the aspects of site selection, layout of process units, building design，comprehensive piping layout, road design, reserved area and the selection and correct understanding of specifications.
